My Grandfather

My grandfather was a great man to me. He was someone I looked up to because he had always something meaningful to share to me whenever I asked him to. He would to tell me his world war two experiences. Like how he used to go underground shelter to hide away from Japanese bombings. He would also tell me what he used to do when he was a kid playing with nature's simplicity, He used to tell me how Malaysia's overgrown plants provided them the fun they needed, since television wasn't invented yet. He used to tell me how he and his friends used to collect fighting spiders, fighting fish, fighting cocks, and challenged each other with other living things that fought. sometimes challenged each other too. My grandfather loved boxing, I would remember him always sitting in his almost ancient-looking brown chair in front of the tv with bits of pipe tobacco all over his shirtless body and all over his brown chair.
My description of him in the last paragraph may have gotten you to think he was a very serious man who always told stories. But no, he is actually a very down-to-earth person. For instance, he would use to go jogging everyday and I would follow him walking all around youth park where monkeys would inhabit the trees in it and often we would stop look at them. He would sometimes tell me with a slight giggle that they are my friends just waiting for me to go play with them for I was once a very mischievous boy, so mischievous till the extend that people would literally call me a monkey. ha ha. Those days!.. And so there were times that I did not go along with him to jog and he would come home with some goreng pisang and with a smile tell me " eh, Just now while I was jogging, one of your monkey friends came up to me and asked me "where is that little boy that follows you often? He looks just like me". And so I would say "Ah Kong...... stop it". and he would laugh and laugh and laugh... I laughed too.. and sometimes I would still wish he is still around for me to be laughed at by him. haha. So and yea. My grandfather was very loving to us. He always made sure we had the best of things. Like getting me a Nintendo because I looked bored in the house, get me goreng pisang, stuff like that. And even though he is gone, I can still never forget his smile and his laughter. My dad and I often share with each other about dreams we would have of him. And they were all mostly happy dreams of him.. I thank God now that he was a man who always made me happy. I am glad to have had an Ah Kong like him. He was a blessing.

The Darren and Justin Thesis

Before I talk about Darren's and my belief, I would like to tell you what my sister once told me.. She is always right. in these things... We were having this conversation as I was leading the topic.. Having not to be able to describe the subject with simple words I began to use "special sound effects" like I always do, She laughed so hard then.. She said" My goodness, you're already 17 and you still use sound effects to describe things???..."Isn't that immature of you to do that". I began to fight for myself , I said," no it isnt immature, its just.... normal for us guys to do so... "But MEN dont do that, only boys do...",she said... I refused to let her win this. Its not right... =).. all older brothers will agree with me.. so then i told her.. that even men do that. she said, "no they dont". And I told her I'll prove to her by pointing out whenever a MAN we know does "sound effects".. So as days passed towards sunday morning in church.. We were listening to Pastor preach a message.. HE did the "sound effects"!! after church, later around dinner my uncle and aunt came. As we were having our family conversations.. My uncle did sound effects too!! after pointing out to my sister these two men doing "sound effects" I then refreshed her memory by the times we saw uncle kevin, my dad, my brother and many other MANLY guys do sound effects.. She then said.. "ok ok , you win la.. all guys do that". VICTORY! it feels good to prove something right... But wait.. all guys do sound effects... Just day before yesterday I told Darren all this.. while waiting for the bus.. We were then talking bout the many things guys still do no matter what age they are.. I have an uncle who still loves to play with paper planes and is all nuts about Star Wars. my dad loves to fix army soldiers(he stopped for a while). And a man I know. I wont mention who. still loves to play with toy cars. My goodness.. We, Men does do the things we are not of age to do. hmmm. How come?? I guess there is no clear meaning on why and how come except that we men really know how to live life to the fullest. Our conclusion....MEN NEVER GROW UP.. WOhoO!!

The heart of life

Some people say revenge is sweet... so what is kindness?? Bitter? I guess life is all about revenge to some people. Since its so sweet to them, they'd rather chew it like candy their whole lives like how a kid can chew candy continuously for hours. I've got another.... Do you ever wonder why good tasting food are always the ones to cause cancer, heart disease, diabetes, etc etc. But the foods that we neglect so much are the ones that can save our lives. If you would point this thesis towards life, it actually has no difference. How sweet and pleasurable the wrong things in life can be. But where do they lead you to? Greed can provide wealth for only a quarter of your life-time, selfishness can only benefit you on what you need, you cannot gain anything else. You get what i mean? =) . Obedience, I believe is always beneficial. You may not like it at one point, but it always leads you to a life of prosperity. (I do not have to explain the obvious). =) Gary May's words:. You know. Living a Christian life is like attending to a buffet. You can always decide on what you want. "Complacency looks good; I’ll take a load of that. Oh man, I've got to get some RECIEVING for myself. Okay okay, maybe just a little bit of GIVING, disgusting stuff, but oh well. And a whole lot of WEALTH!!." haha. Some of us may choose life like that. It does look good and promising. But remember which are the dishes that are beneficial and which are the ones that kill. .Justin.
